Just couldn't wait to get on the road again...

I know it's been a good long while since I posted 9 months or so. So this will be a catchup post. I worked my way from my sisters in mid Michigan across 90 leaving mid September. It was great to visit with my sis and neice and attend the Michigan Rennaisance Festival for the first time in nearly 20 years.

There were some challenges along the way, one finding parks open past October in the north. I had a great free overnight at Kewaudin Casinos which even have plugs for free but they had shut off the power so safe boondock til I could get to Mile High Campground in Wisconsin. Decent little park but a bit pricey and they gave me one of the worst spots to back into when I asked for easy, bid trees, huge hole across from the entry and the road angled the wrong way. I should of trusted my gut and went around the circle backwards and it would of been easy or any of the 8 unoccupied spots next to me.

From there I had a hard push to Plankiton SD for a quick overnight (475 miles learned that pushes my limit espeically when travelling west and crossing a time zone) at Hills. Sale cheap hookup but at that time of year no water etc. I quickly moved on in the morning heading for Rozet. I loved this little spot, 4 seasons RV park it was windy and cold and there is no real town nearby for supplies but just the week I needed.

From there the plan was to overnight at a Cracker Barrell in Billings, MT and it got cold down to below 30 that night with some snow. My batteries were running low so we had limited heat overnight and I used fleece to line my windows and doors (later I got a little buddy red heater that can run on green propane canisters). Me and the fur baby hunkered down and trust me she dove under the covers for the night. We moved on to Bernie and Sharons in Garrison MT for the week nice little park but I missed not having the advertised wifi here we saw overnight lows in the teens and I even had a 5 gallon water jug freeze and crack when I left it outside for the night. I set out some Reese's peanut butter cups for Halloween on the picnic table but no one came by.

From there it was time to make my way to family in Washington so I did a free overnight in Moses Lake Dunes and it was beautiful. From there I got set up at my MIL in her driveway. I ordered my airskirts and hoped I would hear any day that my home sale closed and funded. Well I was there a week and my guy had a massive stroke and while I am frantically trying to help him at Neuro ICU at OHSU the realtor called and said the home closed. A lot happened in that day I confirmed something I suspected and lost all respect and trust in the person I spent nearly 20 years with. I would spend the next 7 months fighting my urge to flee and leave, I just felt obligated to try to help him get out of the wheelchair and not be a burden on his mom and his kids. I was not able to get him fully out of the wheelchair but I left before it mentally and physically took me to a place I would not bounce back from. Hardest 2 weeks ever from the time I knew I was done, told him and got packed up to leave. The highlight is I won a national contest with airskirts. I pulled out on June 24th, but more about the last 3 weeks in the next post.

Remember not all who wander are lost and you don't need to avoid the things that scare you - embrace the trepidation and keep on heading down the road.
