I had a good trip through Nebraska, Iowa, Illinios and Indiana with stopping for a week at Prarie Oasis near Henderson, NE and an overnight in Iowa and another overnight at Illini State Park in Marseilles. Finally got to Michigan on the 19th of September and am parked at my sisters on WIxom Lake or what was Wixom Lake. This was the house my dad built for my mom as she wanted a home on the lake just 4 houses from my childhood home on the canal.

It is actually rather devastating what the 4 dam failures in 2020 did to the little neighborhood of Thomas Shores and surrounding area. Many homes, cottages and businesses destroyed in an ill-fated natural disaster in May of 2020. I grew up with these families and people and thanks to many hard working people they are slowly rebuilding their lives and memories and with the help of the Four Lakes Task Force https://www.four-lakes-taskforce-mi.com/ and hopefully the help of the State of Michigan this area will once again return to what it was in 2025 or 2026. I am proud to say my neice works for this organization which is trying so hard to bring the lakes back to what they were.

The above was taken in 2019 the last time I was here shortly after my fathers death.
It has been a wonderful time here other than the weather. We have had family get togethers and just yesterday my childhood friend brought her son by to meet me. I had not seen her in 30 years and he is struggling with some health issues and it was so good to make them a meal and catch up and give her all the hugs she wanted for the touch months ahead. Chase is an amazing young man with a strong fight and all my prayers and thoughts are with her and all her children. I've got a few more days here to get things sorted out and packed up before I pull our on Saturday and take 'tiny but mighty' across big mac (i.e. the Mackinac Bridge). I get to stop at my parents favorite place in Mackinac City, Darrows Restaurant for fresh whitefish before they close for the season this weekend. I'll overnight near Manistique in the Upper Peninsula and see some beautiful sights as I move on to stay the week in WIsconsin not far from Wisconsin Dells (the first place we stopped for fun when we took my guy and my 'kids' to meet my parents 16 years ago.
At two months in of living full time in my Revolve and travelling since the first of September I am still enjoying my tiny home on wheels. Now if I can just get my former home through escrow and closed, should happen this month and the stress and burden of that will be gone. Until next time....a little further down life's highway.
